Abstract:
Three types of chloramphenicol films were developed using Ethylene-Vinyl—acetate co-polymer as drug delivery material. The release rates of the drug from different films were investigated. The results indicated that the release rates of laminated film and semilaminated film complied with the Higuchi equition, being within 16 hours. The release rate constants of laminated film and semilaminated film were 73.82μg/cm^2/h^1/2 and 95.59μg/cm^2/h^1/2, respectively. The effective level could be maintained in 24 h. Eighty seven percent of the total amount was released by unlaminated film within 5 minutes and the total drug release is brought to the end in 15 minutes.
