NON-AQUEOUS CATALYTIC THERMOMETRIC TITRATION OF WEAK BASIC ORGANIC DRUGS

Eight alkaloids and their salts were determined with N/10 perchloric acid in acetic acid using acid-catalyzed α—methylstyrene polymerization and acetylation of quinhydrone to indicate the end point in titration. Factors influencing the sharpness of the end point inflection were studied and compared with the method of non-aqueous potentialmetric titration.
