TLCS OF HESPERIDIN IN CITRUS CORTICES AND ITS PREPARATION

Hesperidin and other constituents present in Citrus cortices and in its powdered mixture with snake bile were separated by TLC on a silica G plate with BAW(4:1:1) as developing system. The chromatogram was scanned at λs 280nm (λR 400nm) on a Shimadzu double wavelength TLC scanner(CS-910) to determine hesperidin. The average recovery of hesperidin was found to be 101.9% (n=5) and 99.6% (n=5)for Citrus cortices and for the mixture with snake bile respectively, with a variation coefficient of 3.4% and 3.8%, respectively.
