Synthesis，characterization and pH sensitivity of N-octyl-N′-imino-O-carboxymethyl chitosan derivatives

Aim ：To synthesize a series of amphiphilic carboxymethyl chitosan derivatives using pH-sensitive imines as the spacers. Methods ：Taking advantage of the imine groups introduced into carboxymethyl chitosan，schiff base derivatived carboxymethyl chitosan were synthesized.The chemical structures of galactosylated chitosan derivatives were characterized by FT-IR and ¹H NMR.Their physical properties were measured by DSC. Results and Conclusion ：Four pH-sensitive N-octyl-N′-imino-O-carboxymethyl chitosan derivatives were synthesized as potential new drug delivery agents.
