Abstract
This study was to investigate the antitumor effect of trichosanthin (TCS) in H22 hepatocellular carcinoma cell line.BALB/c mice bearing H22 cell were treated with peritoneal injection of TCS.The inhibition rate (IR) of TCS on tumor growth and angiogenesis were detected. The antitumor effect of TCS was evaluated by flow cytometry (FCM) and anti-angiogenesis effects by chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay. The mean tumor weight of the TCS-treated group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.01), and the angiogenesis of the TCS-treated group was less than that of the control group (P<0.01).It suggested that TCS might retard the growth of tumor by inhibiting angiogenesis.
