Study of Conversion of Penicillin G Into Cefazolin by Ring Enlargement
3-Bromomethylcephembenzhydry1ester S-oxide has been synthesized. It is a general and key intermediate in the preparation of 3-substituted cephalosporins, Using this intermediate, cefazolin has been prepared with a total yield of 5-5.5%.
