CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF PYRROSIA SHEARERl(BAK.)CHING

  • Ten compounds were isolated from the alcohol extract of a Chinese folk medicinal herb—Pyrrosia sheareri (Bak.) Ching. On the basis of their spectral data and physical-chemical constants, seven of them were identified as diplotene(I), β-sitosterol(Ⅲ) , vanillic acid(Ⅳ), protocatechuic acid (V) mangiferin (Ⅷ), fumaric acid (Ⅸ) , sucrose (X)respectively. The crystalline compounds Ⅳ, V, Ⅶ, and Ⅸ were found to be active in inhibiting bacteria growth.
