ABSORPTION OF BAICALIE IN SMALL INTESTINE OF RAT

  • An improved circular system for rat small intestine in situ was used to determine the absorption of baicalin.The result demonstrated a lower absorption-(20-40%).A comparision was made between the absorption with fastened and unfastened bile tracts in rats. The pharmacokinetic parameters were as follows:mean (t^1/2)a 15.45 h^-1, 11.42 h^-1, and total absorption, 24.44%, 31.58%, respectively. Statistcally, no marked difference was observed (variance analysis F<5.3)
