CHARGE TRANSFER COMPLEXATION-SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF RESERPINE IN TABLETS

  • The reserpine in tablets was determined with charge transfer complexation— spectrophotometry. The ccmplex, which has a maximum absorption at 293±1nm, was formed with iodine as an acceptor in chloroform. Within the concentration range of 4-20 μg/ml of reserpine, the absorbances exhibit a linearity. The average recovery was found to be 99.64±0.98%( X±SD). in the presence of hydrochlorothiazide, hydralazine sulfate and excipients no interference was occurred.
