Abstract
Ethidium bromide(EB) and acridine orange were used to treat on the Streptomyces hygroscopicus NAP-05, which produces herbimycin and amylase. After treatment, the most mutants lose the herbimycin production, while most EB mutants still produce the antibiotics. Protoplost regeneration was carried out in the organism NAP-05. The most regeneration strains lose or decrease the herbimycin producing ability.
