Asymmetric Reduction of Prochiral Ketones Using Chirally Modified Sodium Borohydride

  • Optical active alcohols were prepared by one-step reduction of prochiral ketones using sodium borohydride modified by \%N\%-benzyl-(\%3S,4S\%)-3,4-dihydroxy pyrrolidine.The effect of adding Lewis acids on reduction was also studied.
