  • The commerical drug under the general name "yinyanghuo" may be derived from about 9 species of Berberidaceae plants. The preliminary microscopic identification of 3 species namely Epimediurn brevicornum. E.koreanum and E.sagittatum which are official in Chinese Pharmacopeia 1977 is reported in this paper. The surface viewof leaves of 3 species mentioned above was examined and compared.
