  • Three quarternary alkaloids have been isolated from the root and rhizome of the Chinese folk drug "Huang-Teng", Fibraurca reeisa Pierre ,collected in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. According to the chemical and spectroscopic data, they were elucidated as palmatine, jatrorrhizinc and pseudocolumbamine, the third one being the naturally-occurring pseudoprotoberberine type alkaloid which was isolated and identified in China for the first time.
