  • The numerical taxonomic technique with information content as selectioncriterion and the taxonomic technique of information content of system-differenceare both more suitable taxonomic techniques using in the optimal selection ofmobile phase-stationary phase systems of TLC. A preliminary comparison between these two techniques from the viewpoint of taxonomic principle has been made with several examples being cited. It is pointed out that a further investigation should be made in the time to come.
