DETERMINATION OF ETHINYL ESTRADIOL IN TABLETS BY FLUORESCENCE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY

Fluorescence spectrophotometric method for determination of ethinyl estradiol in norgestrel tablets is based on the Kober reaction, in which mixture reagent (sulphuric acid-water (3:1) 0.5% (w/v) hydroquinone) is used for inducing fluorescence. The better stability of fluorescence and reproducibility were obtained. Norgestrel and excipient did not interfere with the determination. The standard deviation of the average recovery is below 4%. It is suitable for routine analysis of tablets.
