TLCS DETERMINATION OF SCOPOLAMINE HYDROBROMIDE IN SCOPOLAMINE BUTYLBROMIDE

  • Silica gel G TLC with ethyl acetate-acetone-25-28% ammonia water(60:20:1) as developing solvent was usd to separate scopolamine hydrobromide from scopolamine butylbromide. Spots were visualized with modified Dragendorff reagent befor using dual wavelength TLCS to determine the content of scopolamine hydrobromide. The average recovery was found to be 100.1%(n=6) with coefficient of variation being 3.5%.
