  • Aim :To synthesize a series of amphiphilic carboxymethyl chitosan derivatives using pH-sensitive imines as the spacers. Methods :Taking advantage of the imine groups introduced into carboxymethyl chitosan,schiff base derivatived carboxymethyl chitosan were synthesized.The chemical structures of galactosylated chitosan derivatives were characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR.Their physical properties were measured by DSC. Results and Conclusion :Four pH-sensitive N-octyl-N′-imino-O-carboxymethyl chitosan derivatives were synthesized as potential new drug delivery agents.
