  • Aim ：To identify the characteristic ingredients in Zhi-Zi-Hou-Pu decoction (ZZHPD) by utilizing various hyphenated chromatographic-spectrum techniques and investigate the effects of the compatibility on the dissolution of the chemical components. Methods ：After separation on a Lichrospher C18 column using methanol-0.1% acetic acid gradient elution，LC-UV，LC-FD and LC-PDA-MS/MS analyses were performed for ZZHPD and the water extracts of different mixtures of crude drugs，respectively. Results ：Seven ingredients were separated and identified. The dissolution profiles of six investigated components were affected by the different composition of the crude drugs. Conclusion ：It is an effective method to study the material foundation of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) by hyphenated chromatographic-spectrum techniques.Some compounds in the TCMs are different form those in the raw medicinal materials.
