Nogo receptor—a promising target for drug development

More Information
  • Since the multi-functions on central neural injury and regeneration, including arresting neurite outgrowth and cell migration modulation, have been revealed in recent years,Nogo receptor (NgR) acting as a point of convergence in signal transduction for several myelin-associated inhibitors is catching more and more attention. The composition and multiple functions of Nogo receptor complex are reviewed in this article, focusing on the new roles of this receptor complex in the occurrence and development of central nervous system (CNS)-related diseases,as well as its potential to be new molecular handles for the design of therapeutic interventions. This may provide a meaningful basis for the development of an effective NgR targeting treatment for several CNS-related diseases in the future.
