Comparative studies of five chemical constituents in Zanthoxylum nitidum (Roxb.)DC.and Z.nitidum(Roxb.) DC.f.fastuosumHow ex Huang

  • This present study applied the RP-HPLC method to determine the contents of the five main chemical constituents in Z.nitidum (Roxb.) DC.and Z.nitidum (Roxb.) DC.f.fastuosumHow ex Huang simultaneously,including magnoflorine,hesperidin,nitidine chloride,ethoxychelerythrine and toddaloactone,and fastuosum.The composition and contents in 27 batches of Z.nitidum (Roxb.) DC.collected in the market and 2 batches of wild herbs were analyzed to investigate their differences.Results showed that the five constituents in the two herbs are quite different.The former mainly contained magnoflorine,nitidine chloride and ethoxychelerythrine;while the latter contained all the five components,especially the contents of toddaloactone and hesperidin are much higher.Besides,the content diffe-rences of the constituents between the different batchs of the same herb are existed.The test result may provide a reference for the rational usage,quality control and further study of the herbs.
