More Information
  • Elucidating the bioactive constituents in Chinese herbal medicines(CHMs) has become one of the key issues for the modernization of CHMs.During the last decades, great advancements have been made on the elucidation of bioactive compounds from CHMs.However, most researchers and pharmaceutical industries tend to approach CHMs in a characteristically western way that is to isolate active ingredients and test them one by one. Therefore,it is necessary to develop methodologies consistent with their own characteristics that the whole CHMs are a set of multicomponent parts selforganized into an interactive and indivisible whole.Combining multidisciplinary technologies,Prof.Ping Li′s research team has obtained significant innovation in academic theories, research ideas and methodologies. After about ten years of investigation, they have successfully developed a technical platform that is consistent with holistic views and characteristics of CHMs for studying bioactive compounds. This technical platform includes multi-component profiling technique,in vivo dynamic evaluation technique, biological fishingchemical analyzing technique,multi-component interactive studying technique and multi-index quality control technique. The project provides insights and technical supports for the innovation of discovering bioactive constituents and studying integrative mechanism.
